The challenge
Preserving an old memorial while making it safe again
The entire memorial was removed from the cemetery, including its foundations. At our workshop this memorial underwent a drastic cleaning process, including polishing out snips and damage from the past 65 years. Inserting new stainless steel dowels to ensure safety and longevity.
As you can now see, the memorial is now restored to its former glory, upto current safety standards, on a brand new foundation. This memorial will now stand proud, representing the people buried here for many more years to come.
Cleaning & Polishing
In our workshop, our memorial masons carefully cleaned, sanded and polished this memorial, to bring it back up to its former glory, and give it its nice white shine back.
Refixing the memorial
Our masons Refixed the memorial into the cemetery, with a new reinforced foundation, complete with stainless steel ground anchor, ensuring the stone doesn't fall over, and stainless steel dowels, securing the kerbs and posts to each other, as well as bedded with cement.
